Based on the principle of thermal mass, the pavilion uses Barcelona’s standard paving stones to create an inhabitable tilted surface angled towards the sun, while also anticipating their future reuse for repair of plazas within the city.

The Reitschule in Bern, CH, has undergone a series of political and legislative changes since 1895, though very few spatial ones. This is a series of infrastructures for the interior courtyard.

Two buildings in Boston, the New England Deposit Library (NEDL) and the Herter Arts Center (MeBAC) are scheduled for demolition in 2030. This proposal sees a future in the moment of nothingness before untimely fate.

Boston Sand and Gravel, located next to a knot of highways and a large empty parking lot, is closing. Bunker Hill Community College is in need of student and faculty housing. This proposal solves both problems.

7. A Laboratory by the River

A former Arts Center has sat abandoned on the foot of a moat for over 40 years, as its and the moats lack of maintenance has led to decomposition of both. A river research laboratory is installed in the former Arts Center in an effort to study the moat.

8. Beneath the Sands

Buried underneath the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes in Central California is oil residue from the largest continuous oil spill in the US, a fake ancient Egyptian city complete with a Sphinx for a Hollywood film set, and a dance hall. These stories, alongside many lesser-tolds, are revealed with a text, series of mappings, and installation in the dunes and Dune Center in Guadalupe.

9. Housing with a Garage

A large, nearly triangular parking garage in Boston is the site for new student and collective housing. Miraculously, the garage is preserved through a series of small operations, and 2 slim towers on the top.

Swiss Bade culture has normalized water as a valuable urban third space and ritual of self-care. Swiss building culture has made scaffolding a ubiquitous background. In Villa Saroli’s pool, a temporary bathing pavilion is built.
